Michaels Bell - Fine ArtMichael Bell
About the Artist | Exhibits

Fine art has never come easily to Michael, "I'll go months without touching a brush. I've tried committing a part of each day to painting, but the results always seemed a little uninspired. It's when the artistic urge strikes on it's own that I Really feel connected to the artwork. There is no thinking involved, it just flows."

"If you were to ask my favorite medium, I'd have to answer, 'Whatever I didn't use last time'. Mixed media would be an understatement for much of my artwork; it's not uncommon to find watercolor, oil painting, oil pastels, stained glass, metal and wood all on the same canvas. Then I'll add electronics and whatever hardware is needed. I love interactive art; art with switches, knobs or dials that the viewer can play with."

Michael's Ink. has been the greatest influence on Michael's art. "Creating signs in San Francisco is very different from other areas in California. The level of creativity that is expected here is much broader. This gives more opportunity to experiment with various materials"
